OU- Hangout for AP English Nerds on their day off.

So it’s Tuesday and we have not school yay! :) However, I went to OU and decided to start on something for English since we always have someting to do……………. On my way up their long, steep sidewalk I ran into Jenny and Natalie. It was raining so we kept going our seperate ways but then I also ran into Ali and Adam. That was really interesting……..Adam was quite happy though he has to pick a different book. Anyways looks like we all felt like spending our morning off at another school. Look what you’ve done to us Kreinbring. Anyone else hangout at the library on Tuesday?……….

OSCARS!!!!!!!!

For those of you who missed the Oscars last night they were awesome. Besides the fact that Slumdog Millionaire swept 8 out of their 10 nominations, other amazing things happened as well. I am happy to say that Kate Winslet won Best Actress for her amazing role as Hanna Schmitz in The Reader. :) If I could not convince you that the movie was great before, this should do it. Great Job Kate!!!!

Since I am talking about the movie, I might as well give a review. The movie was a good representation of the book. The director, Stephen Daldry, was able to uniquely incorporate the various monologues and self-reflections of Michael Berg. Ralph Fiennes, the actor that plays Michael-and Voldemort in Harry Potter :) - is able to draw the views attention and doesn’t let it go. He is very moving through out the Movie. Some aspects of the book are left out of the movie such as the time when Hanna says that she did not find the note that Michael left, or the time when she yells at him for leaving school to see her. These push the aspect that Hanna is ashamed of her illiteracy but though they are important Daldy was still able to portray this shame without them. One thing that he left out is Hanna finding Michael at the swimming pool with his friends and him not acknowledging the fact that she is there and that they have a relationship. I don’t quite understand why this was left out or why I felt that it was important when reading the book but I did and still do. I hope more people go to see the movie and hope to see you there on my second visit!!!

My New Blog

So, I just started this blog and I’m pretty proud of it since I am normally technologically challenged. I thought I should write something to make it more appealing and realized that I have nothing to write about. Honestly, I just wanted to get rid of the “Hello World” post that Edublogs automatically puts up after someone makes a blog page. I will be back later to write on a more meaningful topic.
